“OPPO Pad 2 with Snapdragon 888” is wrong – People are fooled by faked Geekbench results

背面

Be careful, some people are posting incorrect “leak” that “OPPO Pad 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 888”.

Geekbench results are faked

“OPPO Pad 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 888”, a number of leaks have been posted on Twitter and Weibo.

Their source is a Geekbench result, but this is actually a falsified result!

The page shows “OPPO Pad 2”, but actually you can check build number when you add .gb6 to the end of Geekbench URL (You have to register at Geekbench).

The build number is “IN2020_11_F.62”, which is the number of OnePlus 8 Pro.

OnePlus 8 Pro has Snapdragon 865 (4 Cores @ 1.80 GHz, 3 Cores @ 2.42 GHz, 1 Core @ 2.84 GHz) and those CPU frequency are same as Snapdragon 888 and some “leakers” thought OPPO Pad 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 888.

People can modify model name by rooting their devices, so don’t believe random benchmark results.

Another proof that the 888 is a fake is that the certification test result of Bluetooth SIG say OPD2201 is Bluetooth 5.3 compliant.

Currently, Bluetooth 5.3 is only supported by select MediaTek Dimensity SoC or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and there is zero chance of it being a Snapdragon 888.

The sibling brand OnePlus’ OnePlus Pad is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000, so most likely OPPO Pad 2 will be the same specifications.

If you see someone posting a “leak” like that, you should remember that they are not a trustworthy leaker.
